This is how “Closer”, the brand-new Tegan and Sara’ song, starts. As you go through its lyrics, you get the feeling you’re sailing a calm ocean, an ocean of poetic waters. As a matter of fact, everything in this song is poetry. It mixes sweet innocence and burning passion, the former seems to be something people have lost nowadays…

Wait a minute! Did I say a calm ocean? But what about the beating and the melody and the Katy Perry-like pop song you (might) have just listened, you wonder, how are these calm? Well the antithesis of calmness and agitation is what makes this song so beautiful. I confess I felt like dancing when I heard it and at the same time I felt I was in love. But, darn, I’m not in love at all! Am I? Ok, I’m confused. But this text is not about me, in fact, who am I anyway? I’ll tell you what: I’m a Tegan and Sara’s FAN! I know, I’m biased… But I’ve been waiting for years for a new song, a new album, new shows and all this waiting just WORTH IT! It’s blown my mind and I’m trying hard to write something coherent. All I want to say is THANK YOU Tegan and Sara for making me feel “in love” every time I listen to every single song of yours; for making me feel inspired; and for cheering me up when I’m down! Maybe you’ll never read this. Maybe I’ll get lucky to meet you some day so I can tell you all this in person (if my shyness allows!). But at this very moment, I just feel a little CLOSER!
